In a bid to reposition the party ahead of 2023, the Baraje-led Reconciliation and Engagement Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State on Thursday has taken a step further ahead to reconcile the aggrieved members and resolve their differences in Offa local government area of Kwara State.
Alhaji Kawu Baraje a former PDP acting National Chairman and currently the Chairman Kwara PDP reconciliation committee has earlier announced its resolve to unite the loyal members of the party who are not pleased with decisions in the party and bring back old members of the party who dumped it in the build up to the 2019 general elections.
The Chairman and other committee members were earlier in Ifelodun local government of the state on Wednesday where it admonished it waring and agrieved members on the need to work together again in the interest of the party so as to set Kwarans off the boundage of the APC-led administration which has made life quite unbearable and terrifying for the people in the last couple of years.
He charged PDP stakeholders in Offa, including youths and women to look above the past, come together with a view to ironing out issues and bringing the party together ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Alhaji Kawu Baraje further assured members at the reconciliation meeting that the grievances of those that have left for other parties and the aggrieved ones who are still in the party’s fold would be genuinely and holistically addressed. He also disclosed that the national leader of the party, His Excellecy, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki CON, has given the committee a mandate to strengthen the internal democracy mechanism of the party on the path of tripod agenda; justice, equity and fairness.
Baraje further gave assurance that the stakeholders who were unavoidably absent but dropped apology notes, including the immediate past representative of Offa/Ifelodun/Oyun at the House of Representatives, Hon. Tope Olayonu Danaladi, would be engaged on special dialogue at a later time with some stakeholders present.
Some of the past political office holders at the meeting include: Hon. Hassan Oyeleke, Chief Segun Olawoyin, Alhaji, Alhaji Raimi Idera, Alhaja Iyabo Olagunju, Tajudeen Alabi, Alhaji Hon. Muraina Oyetola, Alhaji Sarafa Bakare, Dr. Abdul Folorunsho, Hon. Jatoo, Alhaja Khadijat Olatinwo, Alhaja Taibat Ahmed, Mutiat Adebayo.
Other members of the Committee on the tour include: Alhaji Atanda Soro, Hon. B. F. Ishola, Sir Bisi Fakayode, Amb. Sheikh AbdulAzeez, Alhaji Dabarako Mohammed, Mr. Moses Awan, Alhaja Sarat Adebayo, Alhaji Adamu Gene and others including the two youths in the Committee, Abdulrahman Kayode and Nura Mohammed.347
