The Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has said his administration is looking forward to signing a new memorandum of understanding with the Nigerian Navy so as to renew the partnership between the military institution and the International Aviation College Ilorin.
The Governor who was remorseful that the MOU which was signed by the Navy before his assumption of office was “abused”, saying his administration is ready to right the wrongs and prevent a reoccurrence while various corrective measures had already been taken on the violations.
AbdulRazaq said the administration will continue to support all the security agencies in the state, commending the Navy for its commitment to securing life’s and properties especially in Offa/Oyun axis of the state.
The Flag Officer Commanding, in person of Lawal said he was in Kwara State as part of his nationwide tour of Naval training establishments, also commended the State Government for its supports towards the institution.
Lawal highlighted that the Nigerian Navy is committed to the pursuit of peace and security in the Nigerian territorial waters and across the country and said this is one of the reasons they are involved in several internal security operations within their host states and other parts of the Nation.
He concluded that getting support from the State Government is also sought in other to address some infrastructural and logistics challenges faced by the Nigerian Navy School of Health Science Offa.110
