Breaking: Atiku, Saraki aspirations suffer set back as PDP zones party chairmanship to north

The Presidential aspirations of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, President of the Eight Nigerian Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki and other potential aspirants of Northern extraction has suffered a huge setback with the new zoning of the Party’s National Chairmanship to the North.

Earlier, a National medium had reported that all the serving Governors in the party had voted in support of zoning the party’s top seat to the north.

While it is expected that the Party’s ticket be zoned to the Southern part of Nigeria, the party has not announced its decision on presidency, vice presidency and principal legislative positions.

It is understood that these offices are outside the terms of reference of the National Convention Zoning Committee, Harmony Times gathered.

The new Chairman of the party will be elected at the National Convention of the Party in Abuja, later in October.
