President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a former labour leader and Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2019 general elections, Comrade Isa Obalowu Aremu as the new Director General of the Michael Imodu Institute of Labour Studies.
This was made known in a tweet by Mallam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media.
The tweet reads “President Buhari has also approved the appointment of Comrade Issa Aremu as the Director of the National Institute for Labour Studies (NILS). Comrade Aremu has been a notable Trade Unionist who has risen through the ranks in the Trade Union hierarchy in Nigeria.”
Comrade Isa Aremu, a former labour leader was the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party but eventually stepped down for Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq during the wave of the Otoge struggle.1708
