BTA challenges Oro youths to set criterion for public office holders

The Barrister Titilope Akogun Foundation paid a courtesy visit to the youth of Oro in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, on Sunday.

The visit, according to the Team Media, was aimed at familiarizing the youth of Oro with the project mission and objectives of BTA foundation.

The Foundation President, Barrister Titilope Akogun challenged the youths to always set a performance standard for all office holders and aspirants in a bid to evaluate their performance upon getting to office.

In his words; “We cannot keep saying every office holder has performed poorly when there is no indices or standard for performance. If I decide to run for office tomorrow, how would you measure if I have performed or not? I would not want anyone to rain curses on me”.

The meeting also provided an avenue for the youth to discuss uprising issues, deliberate on way forward for the immediate action.

During the meeting, a needs assessment was done to ascertain young business entrepreneurs in need of support.

The Foundation provided financial support to 5 business entrepreneurs, market women to promote their businesses and they were encouraged to make judicious use of the kind gesture.

The Oro Youths were admonished not to be deterred regarding few challenges plauging their community politically and in governance.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Oro youths to pour out their passionate yearnings and conclusions were reached for further action
