The Nigeria Center for Disease Control has announced the lowest daily cases of the novel coronavirus in five months.
The 100 new cases were recorded in just 10 states in Nigeria- Lagos-39 FCT-22 Kaduna-19 Oyo-7 Ebonyi-6 Edo-3 Katsina-1 Ekiti-1 Bauchi-1 Nasarawa-1.
The total number of infections in the country to over 55,000, according to an update by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday night.
For about two weeks, less than 300 cases have been reported by NCDC. This is gradually raising Nigerians hope about the virus, as it is being believed that Nigeria is gradually flattening the curve.
While the collection of samples have declined grossly in at least six states across the country in August. This has raised concerns among health experts on weather the low figures being reported of late were due to the decline in the rates of testing across the country.
According to the NCDC update, the total number of confirmed cases stand at 55,005, while 43,013 have been discharged and 1,057 deaths have been recorded.228
