ENDSARS: Kwara State Governor shares grievances of protesters

The Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency Gov AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has shared and appreciated the grievances of protesters.

He made the statement via his official Facebook page. He said: “l am in receipt of the petition by Coalition of
Concerned Kwarans dated October 8, 2020. This petition, signed by 10 of the coalition’s members, was a follow up to a peaceful protest by them on the same
day in Ilorin, the state capital.”

“The government appreciates the grievances of the
protesters, who are mostly young people, and commends them for their peaceful conduct, and sense of duty to their fatherland. Their peaceful conduct, despite the weight of the allegations raised
in their petition, shows their maturity. That conduct aligns with the spirit of harmony that our state is known for.”

”I am assuring members of the coalition that their
petition, along with their demands, would be
communicated to the Federal Government and proper follow up made to address all the issues raised.”

He continued: “On our part, we will continue to engage the police
authorities in our state to urgently investigate specific allegations for appropriate redress and sanctions. In summary, public safety, fairness and justice to all are
the essence of good governance and the role of good policing is absolutely critical to the mix.”

“I urge our youths to continue to be law abiding in all that they do with the assurance that our administration would always uphold justice, and fairness,” he wrote.
