FG panel visits Olofa’s palace, commends monarch

The Presidential Visitation Panel to the Federal Polytechnic Offa paiourtesy visit to Olofa of Offa, HRH, Oba Muhammad Mufutau Gbadamosi, Ajagungbade l, Esuwoye ll at his palace.

Chairman of the panel, Prof. Duro Oni with other members were accompanied to the Palace by the Rector, Dr. Lateef Olatunji, Deputy Rector Adminstration, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi and the Registrar, Mr. Adetunji Oni while terms of references that concern traditional rulers in host communities were revealed to the monarch, as contained in a press release by Mr Usman Isa.

The terms of references include studying the general atmosphere of the institution, the management, staff and students and how they relate with host community and also check the level of security for both staff and students in the community.

His Royal Highness in his response commended the Federal Government for setting up visitation panel which will enable the school Management of various institutions to sit tight and be productive. He therefore welcomed the panel members to Offa Kingdom, describing the community as most calm, peaceful and convenient for both indigenes and visitors.

Olofa disclosed that the Rector of the Polytechnic is very good, active and proactive as he always keep matters arising in touch with him for royal and fatherly intervention.

Kabiesi narrated his concerted efforts in fostering peace, unity and togetherness within the polytechnic and the community at large, adding that the relative peace enjoyed in the institution is an output of being a peace loving monarch.

Olofa of Offa confirmed that Fedpoffa Rector with his Management team, staff and students have been maintaining peace and orderliness with the host community and the Polytechnic has been running uninterrupted academic calendar year in year out peacefully without hindrance.

According to him: “The relationship between the management, staff and students with host community is very smooth and cordial because am there for them; I take the Polytechnic problem as mine and carry it all along to ensure everything is normal so I can sleep with my two eyes closed. So, we have been having a wonderful relationship especially when you have a capable father like me and a very good Rector like him.”

Speaking on the expanse of land and location of the Polytechnic, Kabiesi said the land given to the Polytechnic is sufficient for the next fifty years as the community is exploring channels to convert the Polytechnic to University of Technology. He however pleaded with the Federal Government to assist the Polytechnic with fund for perimeter fence to demarcate its boundaries.

Chairman visitation panel, Prof. Oni commended the monarch for donating such expanse of land to host the Polytechnic. He therefore thanked the royalty for welcoming and accommodating the visitation team conveniently.

He further described Kabiesi Olofa of Offa as monarch who is not an ordinary traditional ruler, but a traditional ruler that is well educated and moving the community in the right direction.
