The Kwara state Governor on Sunday has described Chief Rex Olawoye a party chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in the state as the golden voice that was instrumental to the success of the Kwara state chapter of APC in the last General election.

In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, the Governor said
“I join our compatriots to celebrate the inimitable golden voice of the Otoge movement Chief Rex Olawoye whose intellectual contributions and commitments to the struggle to free our people are immeasurable.”
The Governor subsequently said he’s glad to associate with the Former Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government and prayed for more rewarding years in the service of humanity for the Pharmacist turned Politician.

Chief Rex Olawoye who is the Asiwaju of Agunjin was born, August 21, 1950 in Agunjin, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
He bagged his B.Pharm degree from the then University of Ife in 1980 and had an illustrious career as a pharmacist and University academic having worked with the Kwara State Health Management Board, Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Lagos and the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital where he served as Head of Clinical Pharmacy amidst other engagements including the General Manager of Alata Group of Companies and the Chairman of Gateway Insurance PLC.

Chief Rex was installed as the Asiwaju of Agunjin in 1994 as a result of his numerous contribution to the town and lofty achievements.
