Ilyasu Moro, an Ex-Convict that was granted State Pardon by Bukola Saraki.
Fresh details have emerged over the refusal of the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Salihu to swear in Hon. Agboola, the member representing Ilorin South State Constituency despite judicial victory at the Tribunal, Court of Appeal and quite strangely, the Supreme Court.
The member representing Ojomu/Balogun state constituency, Hon. Saheed Olamilekan Popoola on Harmony FM, Saturday morning while playing guest to a popular radio program, Ifokanbale hour hosted by Adebabagogo. Hon. Popoola while reacting to the sack of the media aide to the speaker, Sheriff Gold, who got his appointment terminated for rescuing the Factional Caretaker Chairman of the APC, Bashir Bolarinwa from the firm grip of thugs that were allegedly led by the Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs to the Governor, Mr Obasanjo Alashi.
The former Hon. Commissioner extolled the leadership qualities of the Speaker of the House and lamented that the few challenges he has been faced with so far were instigated by the Governors and his supporters.
In his words , ‘’The Governor directed that Hon. Raheem Agboola (Ilorin South State Consituency) should not be sworn in and The Speaker is under great pressure from the Executive arm, The Governor should as well understand that the House of Assembly is not a Subsidiary of the Executive arm’’.
Hon. Raheem Agboola had secured the seat of the Ilorin South State Constituency after securing Victory at the Courts but have not been sworn in by the Speaker months after he was handed the Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission. A situation that is seen by kwarans as a flagrant disregard to the rule of law and the 9th Assembly, labelled as a rubber stamp Assembly that are willing to do the biddings of the Governor regardless of whose ox is gored.
Saheed Popoola also berated Alhaji Ilyasu Moro for insulting and maligning the image of certain stakeholders in the ruling party that are not loyal to the governor in his bid to control the structure of the party. He noted that ”Ilyasu Moro was an ex-convict but was granted state pardon by Former Governor Bukola Saraki”.607
