The Vice President of Global Industrial Union and the former Secretary General of Textile and Garment Union of Nigeria, Comrade Issa Aremu on Friday, declared that he do not regret stepping down for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Comrade Aremu said this during his 60th birthday anniversary which was garnished with a Novelty Cycling from Kwara State Stadium Complex to Ilorin Grammar School (IGS) Geri Alimi, Surulere area of Ilorin, his alma mater.
The former Labour Party governorship aspirant said this while responding to questions from journalists on whether he regret his step down for the incumbent governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in the last gubernatorial election.
He said: “The truth is that, I do not regret stepping down for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. I visit my alma mater, Ilorin Grammar School (IGS) to mark my 60th birthday. I see developments and renovations.”
Comrade Aremu had a tour round the school and after inspecting the school he commended the governor for renovating the school and several others in the state.
“We have other good things that he has done which are highly commendable. I have to acknowledge that governing is not easy in the general sense of it but the governor is doing his best,” he added.
He also commended employment opportunities open for teachers, further encouraging the governor to do more acknowledging the financial predicament of the nation at this time.204
