The All Progressives Congress in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, has on Monday, affirmed the Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Kayode Alabi, as the Leader of the party in the Local Government, which is the largest in the Country.
The stakeholders and members of the party who paid a solidarity visit on the Deputy Governor, also resolved to remain United and work assiduously for the Re-election of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in 2023.
Leaders of the Party took rounds in extolling the Virtues of the Deputy Governor while also appreciating his leadership gestures in piloting the affairs of the party in the Local Government.
Hon. AGF Salahudeen who spoke at the Deputy Governor’s Office reiterated the importance of settling all grievances and ensuring that the unity in the Local Government is upheld and guarded jealously. He noted that members should make frantic efforts in getting back those who might have left the party based on genuine or flimsy reasons.
Speaking at the parley that witnessed the presence of all the Elected and appointed Political Office holders in the Local Government, the Deputy Governor charged members of the party on the need to be resolute in their support for the Administration of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
“..As a party in Ifelodun Local Government Area, We need to be United, Unity is paramount. While we remain as one, we need to reach out to our friends with grievances on the importance of ensuring a United and formidable party. We can’t afford to go into the elections in disarray, it is important we reach out to everyone and bring them on board.”
” The Administration is doing a whole lot in terms of infrastructural development in our area and we must support the Administration to do more for us. A lot is needed to be done, if the Governor gets the unalloyed support of Ifelodun Local Government Area, it will say alot about us as a party and individuals.”
The Deputy Governor also led the stakeholders and members in honoring the memory of Late Reverend Dr. S.A. Adedayo, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Religion who lost his life after a brief illness last week.
The Stakeholders and members, on the mandate of the Deputy Governor, subsequently made way to the State Secretariat at the Commissioner’s lodge way to pay a solidarity visit on the Chairman of the party, Prince Sunday Fagbemi.
While Introducing all members present, the Chairman of the party in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdullateef Quadri, felicitated the new Chairman and also thanked the erstwhile caretaker Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Samari for supporting the new Chairman.
At the Visit, Hon. Razaq Owolabi, Honorable member Representing Share/Oke-Ode State Constituency, appreciated the party Chairman for his Sterling leadership qualities he has exhibited since his Election. He thanked the Chairman for standing on the side of truth by responding that “This is not all of Ifelodun Local Government APC” when a group of persons who wanted to circumvent the truth had earlier paid a visit to the office of the State Chairman.
He noted that the Governor is the leader of the party and that the Local Government will remain United to ensure the re-election of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in 2023.
Also Speaking, Hon. AGF Salahudeen, Honorable member Representing Omupo State Constituency at the House of Assembly, described the emergence of Prince Sunday Fagbemi as one with a very high hope as he is confident that he will paddle the affairs of the party to the promised land.
The Party in Ifelodun Local Government subsequently supported the State Secretariat with the sum of N500,000.
Present at the meeting include, Chairman, House of Assembly Service Commission, Femi Yusuf; SA to the Governor on Community Intervention, Kayode Oyin Zubair; Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Communication, Bashir Adigun; Ifelodun TIC members led by their Vice Chairperson, Princess Atoyebi Folashade; All Appointees of the Kwara State Governor from Ifelodun Local Government Area except the Honorable Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Adenike Afolabi-Oshatimehin; All the Chairmen, Women Leaders and Youth Leaders across the 18wards of Ifelodun Local Government Area were all present including all the Local Government Party Executives.
