Members of the All Progressives Congress in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State Converged in Share, the Headquarters of Ifelodun LGA for the party’s Local Government Congress as approved by the National Caretaker and Convention Planning Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The Local Government Congress which was held within the premises of CAC Primary School, Share, had several stakeholders across the 18 wards of the Local Government Area in attendance.
The Congress, which was held amid fanfare and reconciliation with representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission in attendance, elected Alhaji Abdullateef Quadri as the Local Government Chairman through a general consensus of all the 18 wards executives of the party and 5 delegates from each ward, with stakeholders and elders of the party in attendance.
The Congress Committee was presided over by Alhaji Toyin O. Ayinla, Mr. Alade Tunde as Secretary and Mr. Saka Salau as a member.
The Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Kayode Alabi who was ably represented by Barr. Hassan Garuba, a former Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, congratulated Alhaji Abdullateef Quadri as the new elected Chairman of the party while also calling on aggrieved members of the party to give peace and true reconciliation a chance.
The Ifelodun Local Government TIC Chairman, Hon Jide Ashonibare described the Congress as a landmark achievement while also charging the new executives on the need to foster peace and unity in the party.
While also speaking, the two Honorables representing Ifelodun LGA at the House of Assembly, Hon. AGF Salahudeen (Omupo State Constituency) and Hon. Razaq Owolabi (Share/Oke-Ode State Constituency) emphasized on the need to ensure a United and strong party, while also calling for more support for the Administration and leadership of His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
They both acknowledged the impact of the Governor in the Local Government with special emphasis on the Special Agro Processing Zone in Adanla while also informing teeming supporters and members of the Party that the Local Government is set to benefit more infrastructural and developmental projects in the months ahead.
In the same vein, the Commissioner-designate from Ifelodun LGA, who participated actively in the congress, encouraged and charged party members in the Local Government to work together for the success of the party in the area, while calling for unity among the stakeholders of the party.
