The Executives, Youths and Women Wing and party bigwigs of the All Progressive Congress, APC Oloje , have jointly rejected the agreement of the trio of Ilorin West Elders Forum, Ilorin West Political Appointees and Ilorin West Stakeholders pertaining the exclusion of the ward on the allocation of Ilorin West Local Government Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) slots.
This was made known in a statement made released by the ward chairman, Mr Sulaiman Dajo on Friday.
According to Dajo, “Oloje Ward, under Ajikobi/Alanamu Constituency was proudly among the surviving and strongest wards when our ruling party was in the opposition,
“More so, during the last general elections, Oloje ward broke the gigantic record by delivering massively, astoundingly, and outstandingly at the elections.
Records are on archives.”
It should be known that Ajikobi/Alanamu Constituency comprises seven ward which include Adewole, Ajikobi, Alanamu, Ogidi Ubandawaki, Oju-Ekun/Sarumi and Oloje ward.
Following this, the Ward, through her patriotic Executives unanimously have resolved to announce their disapproval and discontentment, and therefore disassociate themselves from the agreement made by some Committee members regarding how positions are doled out to some wards leaving out Oloje ward.
The statement read further: “The decision has never being with our endorsement and doesn’t go down well with us. We say NO to such quasi conclusion,
“It is at this juncture that we want to set records straight. The decision of the sitting committee is as follows which we are not part of it;
Ilorin West is divided into Magaji Ngeri and Ajikobi/Alanamu Constituencies;
APC Oloje Ward has no much business with how Magaji Ngeri might have allocated their slots to the respective wards under it. We have issues and want to settle score with our constituency where we belong.”
The decision of the Committee apportion of the positions goes thus;
Vice Chairman – Ajikobi Ward
Secretary – Alanamu Ward
Supervisor Counsellor 1 – Ubandawaki Ward
Supervisory Counsellor 2 – Oju-Ekun/Sarumi Ward
According to Dajo, Oloje was initially allotted Supervisory Counsellor 2 which is now given to Oju-Ekun/Sarumi ward.
The present appointed and political positions in Oju-Ekun/Sarumi and Oloje wards is shown below.
- Member, Kwara State House of Assembly – Barrister Abdulgafar Ayilara Ayinla
- Commissioner, National Population Commission (NPC) – Alhaji Abdulrazaq Gidado
- Senior Adviser on Planning to the Governor – Mr Shagaya
- Chairman, Kwara State Hajji Commission – Dr Zambaki
Below is the only appointment Oloje ward has;
- Chairman, Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency – Alhaji Bolakale
“In this light, we determinedly as a matter of urgency implore the committees in charge to go back to the drawing board and look into this and come up with a more pleasing and agreeably decision,” he added.
Dajo hereby call the attention of the state Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, his deputy, Elder Kayode Alabi, Kwara State APC Executives and stalwarts to intervene in what he described as ‘unfair resolutions’ of some officials at the Committee level.
