‘It’s an incentive to do more,’ Gov. Abdulrazaq acknowledges Leadership award

The Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has expressed his profound gratitude to the Leadership Newspaper for bestowing him the 2020 Governor of The Year award.

The governor in a tweet via his Twitter handle @RealAARahman, on Monday afternoon acknowledged the award and described it as a motivation to do more good works in the state.

Governor Abdulrazaq wrote: “I wish to convey my personal appreciation and that of our entire team to the Leadership newspaper for the award of the Governor of the Year 2020 conferred on me by the Leadership Group Limited — publishers of one of Nigeria’s leading newspapers, Leadership.

“The award means a lot to our team. For one, it motivates us to do much more for our people despite the challenges of dwindling resources and our peculiar terrain. Secondly, it is a genuine acknowledgment of our efforts to do things differently and deliver good governance.

“And, thirdly, it is a gentle reminder that we are being watched from far and near and we must therefore be at our best always.”

He also added that his pact with Kwarans is to reposition the state for greatness, and make it work for all, beginning with laying the right foundations across sectors and prioritising programmes and projects that promote human capital development and encourage businesses to thrive.

Furthermore, he thanked the management and board of editors at the Leadership Newspapers for graciously recognising our modest strides these past 18 months with this award of Governor of the Year 2020.
