Just In: Explosion in Exam Hall allegedly injures 9 Kwara Poly Students, Protest grounds school

An explosion within the Computer Based Test centre of the Kwara State Polytechnic has allegedly injured 9 Students of the State owned tertiary institution earlier in the day(Saturday).

According to sources that opened up to Harmony Times, the students were about to sit for one of the last 3 papers that will see an end to the First Semester Examination, GNS 111, GNS 112 and a particular CBS course.

The tranquility that persisted in the CBT Examination Hall came to an abrupt end within minutes when some sets of Computer systems and Installation exploded that got 9 Students within the hall injured according to a source that pleaded to be anonymous.

When Harmony Times engaged some of the workers in the CBT hall, they ascribed the explosion to minor electrical faults and glitches.

As it was evidently clear that the Examinations could not progress and in a directive that miffed the student populace, the school management announced that the remaining three examinations would be shifted to the Second Semester. The announcement was met with stiff resistance by the students as they embarked on a protest that had grounded all other activities in the school premises.

In a bid to restore calm on campus, the Polytechnic management engaged the services of Military men saddled with the responsibility of curbing cultism within the school premises to disperse the protesting Students.

It is still unclear if the School management had rescinded on the decision to postpone the Examinations till the second semester.
