Just In: House of Assembly suspends Indefinitely Oshatimehin’s screening process

The Kwara State House of Assembly has suspended indefinitely, the screening process of Mrs. Nike Oshatimehin as a Commissioner-nominee representing Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Suspension came amidst series of allegations by different groups in Ifelodun Local Government Area against her initial nomination by the Kwara State Governor.

At the plenary sitting presided over by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Honorable Danladi Salihu, the House resolved that her screening be suspended indefinitely despite calls for her outright rejection by a significant section of the House.

The former Commissioner in the Agriculture and Communication Ministries, had faced strong resistance to her nomination from Ifelodun Local Government with allegations bothering on, insulting the person of the Olupako of Share, leaking of Government documents and insubordination to the state Governor among others.

Meanwhile, the State Assembly confirmed and approved the nomination of Mrs. Florence Olasumbo Oyeyemi as a Commissioner representing Oke-Ero Local Government Area of the state.
