Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has grieved for the Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, Abdulkadir Jimoh, whose remains were consign to the grave in Ilorin.
AbdulRazaq commiserated with the Nigerian Police, the people of Baboko, Ilorin, and the immediate family of the CP.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, said: “His Excellency received the report of the death of CP Lanre Jimoh with sadness and prayed to God Almighty to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
“On behalf of his family, the people and government of Kwara State, His Excellency condoles with the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, the entire police community, and the immediate and extended family of the late commissioner. He prayed Allah, the giver and taker of life, to repose the soul of the deceased and comfort the family he left behind.”
The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammad Bashir, led the Janazah prayer as the late Commissioner of Police was buried at his GRA residence on Saturday afternoon.
CP Jimoh who died in Calabar, the Cross River State capital on Friday, was honoured with 21 gunshots salute by the Nigeria Police Force shortly after the Janazah prayer.173
