Kwara Landlords Risk Prosecution for not Providing Toilets

The Kwara State Government has announced a three-month deadline to landlords in the state who fail to build toilets in their residence.

Interacting with journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday on the sidelines of contributing refuse bins in strategic locations of the state capital by the Rotary Club, Ilorin Metro, Director in the state Ministry of Environment, Gabriel Towoju, said on expiration of the deadline given, “officers of the ministry will embark on inspection of households in the state to arrest defaulters.”

He implored residents of the state to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse in drainage channels, saying that the habit has amounted to health hazard and environmental degradation.

The President, Rotary Club Ilorin Metro, Yousef Sanders, went further to say that the donation of refuse bins was part of activities to mark Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project of the club, adding that the club is trying to let people see why their environment should be clean, so they can be free from airborne diseases which is wide spread these days.
