People’s Democratic Party members in Irepodun and Isin local government areas of Kwara State have pledged their unwavering loyalty and support, and promised to work relentlessly to secure victory for the party in the upcoming elections to hold in the state.
The members after long sessions of thorough talks and serious deliberation, renewed their support for a more united party where justice, fairness and equity shall be served.
The Reconciliation and Engagement Committee, on Monday, in its ongoing assignment to reconcile warring and agrieved members, visited the duo local government area headquarters, Omun-Aran and Owu-Isin respectively.
Recall that the committee which commenced its reconciliation job, last week, first visited Ifelodun, followed by Oyun and Offa local governments of the state and have since reconciled the party members and secured these areas for the party.
During the meeting with Ifelodun members, the committee received an interim report submitted on the state of the party in the local government by the local government reconciliation committee, for which the state committe chairman and former national acting chairman of the party, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, promised to holistically study the position of the paper, give resolution and act in accordance to the party provisions.
Meanwhile, in Isin local government, the insinuation going round that some stakeholders of the party including former House of Reps and State Assembly members, Commissioners, Special Advisers and Assistants, Council Chairmen and other appointees, have defected to APC alongside an ex-council chairman, was thwarted immediately as all were physically present and thus reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and its leadership.
The committee expressed concern on how much the people couldn’t any longer endure the sufferings and propagandist agenda trailing the present administration.
Baraje further expressed how important it’s to liberate Kwarans off the APC led administration which has made life more terrible and terrifying for the people since its coming into power in the last two years.
He, however, noted that it’s important that the party forge a common goal and agreement in order to uphold the honour and integrity for which the great party is known.
Moreover, members of the party across the two local government areas lauded the unflinching resilience of the state committee in its grand commitment to restore peace, foster unity and embrace the tripods of justice, fairness and equity.
The party stakeholders in attendance appreciated the party’s state and national leader, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki CON, for extending its gestures and palliatives at every point in time to them, including during the ongoing Ramadan.1227
