The Save Kwara Advocacy Group has accused the Kwara State Government of being behind the mob invasion of the Cargo terminal and other warehouses in the state.
The group in a press statement by Gidado Ismail that reads in part said that the State Government is complicit in the mob attacks.
The statement reads,
The attention of Save Kwara Advocacy Group, SKAG has been drawn to statement credited to Honorable Commissioner for Communication, Harriet Afolabi-Oshatimehin wherein on behalf of state Government, she drew public attention to purported hoodlum’s attacks on some notable public facilities in Ilorin.
We are appalled by this political mischievous strategy by some agents of Kwara state government who have resorted into plotting violence against her own people in order to create a scenario of un-existing crisis, heat up the polity so as to cajole the Presidency and Federal government to release fund for crisis management for the state .
From the claims of the Commissioner for Communication, it’s obvious the government is in the know of the plan to attack Cargo Terminal before it was eventually invaded. The big question is why did government refused to draft security agents to safeguard the Cargo terminal?
Certainly, we can deduce that Governor Abdulrazaq intentionally opened that facility to effect sinister invasion which was already in their plans to create anarchy which will eventually enable them o frame some perceived opposition members in the state .
Kwara state people will recall that on the 21st of October, we alerted the general public and security agencies on sinister plan by S.A domestic to Kwara state government, Soji Alashi to launch attack on certain individuals and public facilities within Ilorin.
Following this revelations, the government which ought to safeguard the state against any form of violent attacks on citizens is now engineering crisis and violent attack in the state and raising false alarm in order to frame up some perceived political opponents and set the state on fire .
We call on Federal Government and security agencies in the state to rise above partisan politics and tame this trend before it escalate to serious political crisis in the state .206
