The Kwara state government in a bid to further improve healthcare delivery in the state, distributed three fully equipped Ambulances to three General Hospitals in the state that were earlier received as donations by the BUA foundation during the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event which was held at the State Ministry of Health on Saturday, August 22, 2020 had in attendance, top officials of the Ministry of Health including heads of subsidiary agencies and in a statement released by the Press Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Falade Gbenga Tayo, the government reemphasized its commitment to ensure quality healthcare is delivered to Kwarans.
At the ceremony, the Honorable Commissioner of Health, Dr. Raji Rasaq who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, described the donation as the fulfilment of another electioneering promise by the administration of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in the Health sector.
Responding to the gesture of the State Government, the Director General of the Hospital Management Bureau Mr. Saad Aluko, alongside the Chief Medical Director of the General Hospital, Ilesha-Baruba, Dr Saka Ismail who spoke on behalf of the benefitting hospitals appreciated the governor for his proactiveness in meeting the demands of the Health Sector so as to deliver effective and optimum services to the citizenry.
The beneficiary health institutions are, General Hospital Offa, General Hospital, Lafiagi and General Hospital, Ilesha-Baruba.148
