Kwara State Governor Felicitates With The New Emir Of Zauzau On His Appointment

Sequel to the demise of the last Emir of Zauzau, the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has felicitated with the new Emir, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli. The statement was released today, October 8, through the chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
Bamalli ,who is a former Commissioner of Kaduna State under Nasir El-Rufai led administration, was appointed as the 19th Emir of Zauzau after the death of the late Emir, Alhaji Shehu Idris, on Wednesday.

In his goodwill message, the Governor stated that he “congratulate His Royal Highness on his well-deserved appointment as the new Emir of Zazzau. Whereas he ascends the throne with the unassailable royal pedigree of his illustrious forebears, His Royal Highness comes to the exalted seat with outstanding professional and academic credentials.”
While recounting his connection with the new emir, he stated that he “recall with nostalgia the bond between new Emir’s late illustrious father Alhaji Nuhu Bamalli and my late father Alhaji AGF AbdulRazaq SAN. Whilst they both served the Zazzau Emirate as the Magajin Gari and Tafida respectively, they were both federal ministers in the cabinet of Prime Minister Sir Tafawa Balewa in 1965.
It is my belief that His Royal Highness’s wealth of experience as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished lawyer, and seasoned technocrat with a rich tapestry of family and friends across the country will augur a very peaceful and beneficial reign as well as enhance a united nation.
On behalf of the people and government of Kwara State, I congratulate His Excellency the Governor of Kaduna State Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, the Zazzau Emirate, and the good people of Kaduna State on this historic occasion. I pray the Almighty Allah to guide His Royal Highness and make his reign long, peaceful, and prosperous.”
Bamalli is the first emir from the Mallawa ruling house within the last 100 years after the death of his grandfather in 1920.
