The Kwara State Governor has commiserated with the Family, entire Muslim Community, most especially the Tijjaniyah group over the death of Sheikh AbdulRahaman Yusuf Mayaki, the Grand Khalifah of Tijaniyyah in the State.
In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, the Governor noted that Sheikh Mayaki was a very religious and highly influential religious leader with enormous impact on the people, his community and Nigeria.
The Chief Press Secretary noted:”The Governor received the news of the Sheikh’s death with sadness despite his old age. Sheikh Mayaki was a very religious leader with tremendous impacts on the people and our community in Ilorin, Kwara State and Nigeria. Given his experience, knowledge and carriage, his death at this time has created a big vacuum in not just the sufi community but also across the State”.
The Governor however commiserates with the Mayaki family of Ilorin and the entire Tijaniyyah community in Nigeria on this sudden loss. He prays to Allah to grant the Sheikh Al-Jannah Firdaus and grant those he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Governor was duly represented at the Burial of the late Sheikh Mayaki by the Secretary to the State Government Professor Mamman Saba Jubril, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters Sa’adu Salawudeen, Dr Mohammed Ghali Alaaya and Special Assistant on Religion (Islam) Zubair Ibrahim DanMaigoro.104
