Kwara Team up with Lagos on diary and rice production

The Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, says that his administration is partnering with Lagos State to improve dairy and rice production in the State.

He made this known during a courtesy visit by the Special Agro Processing Zone team to the Government House.

The Governor also pledge to ensure smooth execution of the project in the state and his administration would continue to set up policies that would bring in investors into the state.

The team working on this project comprises of top officials from African Development Bank, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, International Fund for African Development and the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture.

Abdulrazaq said this partnership with Lagos State on how to improve dairy and rice production will not only boost food production but also improve the state Internally Generated Revenue.

The team lead African Development Bank Group told Abdulrazaq that the programme would be implemented in all the 36 states of the country and the FCT and Kwara is one of the first six states selected for this scheme in the first phase of the project.
