The Kwara State House of Assembly as suspended the only PDP member in the house over case of alleged insubordination.
Honorable Jimoh Raheem Agboola who represents Ilorin South Constituency in the State House of Assembly was suspended on alleged Contempt/Abuse of Privilege sequel to a Motion Without Notice moved by the House Leader, Hon Abubakar Mogaji Olawoyin on Tuesday’s Plenary.
Olawoyin, while leading the debate on the motion said that the Assembly is an institution and not an individual and as such must be respected.
The House Leader further accused Hon. Agboola of making a despairable comment about the House, stressing that he was calling out the masses to stage a protest against the government and the House of Assembly on a radio program.
The House Leader noted that such act at this period of insecurity as unsafe and could lead to chaos.
He added that the disrespect Hon. A gbola brought on this House has already turned to a trending topic on the social media.
Another member of the House, Hon Awolola Olumide Ayokunle, noted that derogatory languages against the House should not be condone, especially, when such language is found out to be false.
Awolola implored the House to make proper investigation on the matter before taking any action.
Speaker Yakubu Salihu Danladi assured the House of adequate investigation and directed the House Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Judiciary to conduct investigation on the matter and reports it’s finding to the House as soon as possible.
He also directed Hon. Agboola to seize from attending Plenary pending the conclusion of the investigation.334
