Lafiagi Emirate community applauds Kwara Governor for Development Projects

People of Lafiagi Emirate Community in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State has applauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his developmental strides in the local government within the last two years.

This commendation came when a high profile delegation of major Stakeholders in Lafiagi Emirate paid a thank you visit to the Governor.

According to Architect Salihu Suleiman, Talban Lafiagi, who spoke on behalf of the delegation during the visit to the Governor in Ilorin.

He commended the Governor on behalf of The Emir of Lafiagi HRH Alhaji Sa’adu Kawu Haliru and appreciated him for the last 20 months of developmental projects in Lafiagi emirate.

We have observed your keenness to the development of Edu Local Government in particular and Kwara north in general,” who spoke on behalf of the delegation during the visit to the Governor in Ilorin.

It was observed within the first few months into AbdulRahman’s tenure that many visits have been made to Lafiagi, and elsewhere, and also many projects executed in the community.

The construction of Lafiagi Township road; ongoing comprehensive renovation of Lafiagi General Hospital; renovation and provision of additional infrastructure for GSS Lafiagi; rehabilitation works at Egwa bridge Lafiagi; ongoing rehabilitation of Lafiagi Water Works, and the accreditation and reaccreditation of all the courses being offered at Kwara State College of Education Technical, Lafiagi.

The delegation, which comprised of dignitaries from Lafiagi, also urged the government to do more for the community in the area of water.

AbdulRazaq commended the delegation for the visit and appreciation of government’s strides in their area, promising to look into their requests regarding the College of Education and access to potable water.

The Governor said all-round development of the state will remain a top priority of his administration.

According to the Governor, the issue of water problem which was observed are being looked into recalling that past military and civilian administrations invested heavily in water while several projects were abandoned and government concentrated on boreholes.

He went on to state that when his administration started in Ilorin, there were problems of bad pipes which had to be replaced.

Members of the delegation included Ndeji of Lafiagi Alhaji Ahmed Yahay Makama; Sha’aba of Lafiagi Alhaji Abdulrahman Manzuma; Makun of Lafiagi Alhaji Sambo Haliru; Walin Lafiagi Justice Idris Adam; Galadiman Lafiagi Alhaji Yaya Isa; Sarkin Matasa Alhaji Abubakar Bello; Danmasani Edogi Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim; Imam of Edogi Alhaji Idris Liman; Provost of College of Education Dr. Mohammed D. Ibrahim; and Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs Hajiya Fatima Audu.
