The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported that death toll arising from Covid-19 complication have surpassed 1000.
This was reported in the daily updates released by NCDC through their Social Media page on Sunday. 5 deaths were recorded on Sunday making the total death toll to be 1002.
Also, cases of Corona Virus in Nigeria have surpassed 52,000 on Sunday after 322 new cases were reported. According to the Covid-19 data made available by the NCDC, there are still over 12,000 active cases across the country, while a total of 38,945 infected persons have recovered and have been discharged after treatment in the country’s 36 states and federal capital, Abuja.
Despite the continuous increase in the Covid-19 cases and deaths in Nigeria, according to report, only 10 of the 36 states in Nigeria have teams of trained staff for handling COVID-19 burials.
