Offa Set to Host Kwara State Chess Competition

In preparation for the forthcoming Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Open Chess competition tagged “Governor’s Challenge ” season 2, the Kwara State Chess Association paid a courtesy visit to HRM Oba Mufutau Muhammed Gbadamosi Ajagungbade I Esuwoye II in his magnificent palace to get his Royal blessing as the Association is set to host the competition for first time ever in the ancient town of Offa. 

The Chairman of the Association, Mr Rasheed Aiyelabegan in a short speech formally informed the Olofa of Offa and solicited for his support towards a successful hosting of the event. 

The competition is a slated to hold from 6th to 8th of February 2021 in collaboration with the Kwara State Sports Council and it promises to be intriguing, educative and entertaining. 

Also in the company of Mr Aiyelabegan was Alhaji Alarape Atanda, Director of Sports,  Kwara State Sports Council amongst other members and Executives of the council and association. 

The Chief Press Secretary to the Olofa of Offa, Mr Olayinka Kadiri used the opportunity and medium to call on all Offa indigenes and citizens with good moves on the chess board to key into this event and showcase their talent to the world.
