Construct Idofian-Igbaja Road,AGF Salahudeen begs Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
Stakeholders and constituents of Omupo State Constituency have appealed to the Kwara state Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to invest in the development of their constituency (Ifelodun Constituency B) as most of the infrastructural development projects in Ifelodun Local Government Area were all directed to Share\OkeOde Constituency of Ifelodun Local Government.
This was made known at the Official Commissioning of A block of Classrooms for LGEA Community School, Gata, Idofian and six motorized boreholes in different villages where access to potable water supply was nonexistent. The projects which were constructed by Hon. Ganiyu Folabi Salahudeen (Honorable Representing Omupo State Constituency) was commissioned by the Speaker of the 9th House of Assembly, Engr. Salihu Danladi.
LGEA Community School, Gata, Idofian is one of the schools without a physical structure that can be identified as a place of learning with the pupils learning under a tree until the intervention of Hon. Ganiyu Folabi Salahudeen. According to Mrs Rufai, the school support officer, ‘’the school was initially domiciled within a private property in the community for many years but subsequently relocated to learning under trees as the building was becoming dilapidated with owners taking up the facility for repairs.
While thanking the Honorable Representing Omupo State Constituency in the House of Assembly for his support and Intervention in ensuring that block of classrooms with offices was constructed for the community, the Community Development Association subsequently enjoined the State Government to help re-engage a SUBEB staff of the school as he has always been available in teaching their children ever since his appointment was terminated.
The Education Secretary of Ifelodun Local Government Area while thanking Hon. AGF Salahudeen for his intervention in the community noted that the Local Government is facing a lot of challenges in the Education Sector. He noted that most Communities in the Local Government do not have classrooms and that, those with classrooms do not have furniture for pupils and students to make use of as they all learn under extremely unfavorable condition.
In his reaction, Hon. Jide Asonibare, the TIC Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government and Chairman of ALGON in Kwara State, also thanked Hon AGF Salahudeen for his intervention in the community. He noted that he was not surprised by the quality of representation from Hon. AGF Salahudeen while charging him to do more for his constituency.
Addressing the dignitaries and Constituents at the ceremony, Hon. AGF Salahudeen reiterated the level of infrastructural deficit that had plagued Omupo while urging the State Government to focus on the construction and rehabilitation of roads across the Community. He appealed to the Speaker, whom he termed as a friend of the constituency to convey the yearnings of the constituents to the State Government. He subsequently appealed to the state Government to help in the construction of Idofian – Igbaja road as it is vital to the development of the area.
‘’We have appealed to the Governor to construct roads in constituency B and as you are seeing the Idofian- Igbaja road, the stakeholders have all supported that the Government gives it urgent consideration and attention.’’
‘’We want the Governor to consider the construction of a minimum of two major roads in Omupo Constituency’’
Speaking at the Commissioning, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly Commended Hon AGF Salahudeen for his many developmental strides both within the ambit of his legislative duties and also as it concerns the development of his constituency.
