PDP Reconciliation: Party receives Hundreds of APC defectors in Kwara

Reconciliation efforts by the leading Opposition Party in Kwara State,the People’s Democratic Party appears to be yielding positive results as the Party on Sunday received hundreds of members from the ruling All Progressives Congress in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of the State.

Harmony Times understands that the defection is coming at the heels of the forthcoming reconciliation visit by the Kawu Baraje led Committee billed for next Tuesday in the Local Government.

The decampees who are mostly women were received by Chief Ebun Afolayan, a former member of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Kwara South Chairman of the Party said, “they have moved from darkness to light after spending about 2 years in APC following deception and propaganda by the leadership of APC”

On behalf of the decampees, Mr Femi Afolayan who spoke at the meeting stated that their group took the bold step to show their loyalty and support for a noble son of Aiyedun and a Telecommunication Expert , Engr Bankole Dare for all the grear things he has been doing despite not presently in government.

Another decampee who also spoke on behalf of the defectors, Mrs James Felicia said, “PDP is more reliable than APC because they value the masses and always come down to grassroots for politicking. She also prayed for God’s guidance on the leadership of the party in the state right from Senator Bukola Saraki.

Present at the meeting are, Former Speaker, Oke-Ero LGA, Hon. Anthony Idowu, Former Kwara South Senatorial Youth Leader, Dr Dele Kayode, Former TIC Chairperson in the Local Government, Hon. Alhaja Arinola Lawal and Former supervisor for health, Hon. Raheem Adisa Akolade.
