The Kwara State House of Assembly has called on Stakeholders and general public to the public hearing of the “Kwara State Consolidated Revenue Codes and Rates Bill, 2020.” This announcement was made on Tuesday, October 6, by the Clerk of the assembly, Halima Kperogi, that the public hearing is scheduled for Monday, October 12 at the State House of Assembly Complex, Ilorin.
The Revenue Bill, which was proposed by the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on September 24, is aimed at reviewing the revenue rates and enhance transparency in the collection of revenue in the state. Also, the bill seeks to disintegrate the revenue code rates from Kwara State Revenue Administration Law passed in 2015.
It reads in part “Invited Stakeholders and General Public are to submit (10) copies of their position papers on the bill to Room 114 on or before 8th October, 2020 to the Assembly Complex. Your submission can also be forwarded to email@example.com and visit www.kwha.gov.ng for more information.”
The bill was referred to the Rules and Business Committee of the Assembly and it passed the first and second reading on the same day.230
