According to a social audit conducted by EnetSud an independent group that is committed to ensuring accountability and effective use of Public fund, a total of #361,957,438:82 was spent to rehabilitate Government Secondary School, Adeta Ilorin.
In the breakdown of the spending, a total of #14,930,430 was spent to construct a new Principal lodge within the school, while #37,271,729:59 was spent to construct 4 wings quadrangle shaped block.
In the document provided by EnetSud, N42m, was spent for the reconstruction of the whole school fence.
Whilst N40,927,588.64 was expended on Staff Quarters, Classroom Blocks took N138,390,980.07, the Female and Male Hostels valued N32,307,039.00 and N32,183,765.01 respectively.
Others in the infographic breakdown released to the CSO, by the government, includes; Toilets – N7,767,631.47; Sporting Facilities – N3,503,636.00; Drainage – 5,768,749.10; Home Economics Centre – N12,569,367.42 and Into-Tech Lab – N5,456,318.00.
Meanwhile, the Kwara State House of Assembly had earlier in June summoned the Commissioner for Education, Fatimah Bisola and contractors in charge of the project.
The speaker noted that the level of work done by the contractors did not commensurate with money paid to them.
Since the summon, nothing has been heard of the outcome of the investigation by the state House of Assembly.462
